Does he know what he’s doing?

Twelve-year-old Artemis Fowl is a brilliant criminal mastermind. But even Artemis doesn’t know what he’s taken on when he kidnaps a fairy, Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon Unit. These aren’t the fairies of bedtime stories. These fairies are armed and they’re dangerous. Artemis thinks he’s got them just where he wants them, but then they stop playing by the rules…

This vacuum works very well. A little heavy, and maybe louder than most, but for the price it works exceptionally well.

I’ve got to be honest, the only reason why I even bought a Kindle is I was being frivolous and thought it might be kind of cool to have one…. All I can say is hooray for impulse buys!!

The first thing that blew me away is the e-ink or w/e they call it…I turned it on, and totally did a double take, it looks absolutely like “print” from a book, in fact I still had the plastic screen protector on it and I had to lift it off just to make sure the text wasn’t just on the plastic. It’s amazing, and really it’s so much easier on the eyes, I love it.

I doubt I can really say anything that hasn’t been said before, but yeah the whole “you’re connected to the Kindle store anywhere, for free” thing is crazy as well, seriously. Also I didn’t even know the Kindle could browse the web…but it can!

Playing mp3s in the background = gravy, it’s pretty intuitive too, I was able to navigate the web, play my music, buy books etc after looking at the instructions for ohhh..about 35 seconds before I got impatient and had to start playing with it.

I’d recommend anyone reading my review, which I’ll admit comes off as gushing, to actually read a tech spec’d review, but just in case.

Pros:
Sleek, high quality design
Easy on the eyes
Mp3 support (easy to load as well)
no need for a computer
free mobile access to web store
web browser
full qwerty keyboard
ability to read magazines, pdfs etc and take notes etc
audio book _and_ text to voice ability (text to voice pretty much has the kindle “read” the book to you)
customizable font size, column width, page orientation for reading/viewing
no need to have a bunch of physical books? yes please

Cons:
I tried to find a relatively obscure book and it didn’t exist in the kindle library…I assume it’s an ever expanding library so here’s hoping (fyi you can search the kindle library on amazon so you can find out in advance)
mp3 player is clunky, it even says on the kindle when you’re accessing it that it’s a prototype, so I’d imagine it might

For lots of newer cars the windshield is so far from the dash you cant reach your garmin. This portable mount doesnt move and you can position it anyway you want without hindering your view. Higly recommended

The SteamVac cleaned the carpet very nicely and was pleased with the results upon first use. I attempted to use the it a second time a week later, and discovered the brushes would not spin. I followed the manual and cleaned the filter, and checked to make sure the brushes were properly inserted, but they still would not spin. I took it up to our local Hoover authorized repair shop and was told that the turbine that spins the brushes was broke and needed to be repaired. I now have to wait 2-3 weeks for warranty verification, parts, and install time.

This is my second Kindle. The first Kindle was purchased 6 weeks ago but it broke so Amazon sent me this second Kindle. I live in Canada and I’ve experienced a lot of frustrations with this product:

1. Books are more expensive for Canadians than they are for Americans. They cost US $2 more per book and that includes books that are free for US residents. We can get some free books in Canada but the numbers are very limited.

2. The extended warranty is not available to residents outside the US.

3. The internet browser does not work outside the US so in Canada, we can only use Wikipedia but not Google or do any other web browsing.

4. When my first Kindle broke, Amazon told me to ship it back and they would ship me a new one. They said they would charge for the entire amount again for the 2nd Kindle($259 plus shipping and customs duties came to a total of about $311) but they would refund that amount when they received the broken one. Well, instead, they sent me a gift certificate for $259 and I had to call and talk to them to tell them that, hey, I wasn’t responsible for the lemon (the first Kindle broke due to manufacturing defects) and so please refund me the entire amount. They did but I did not appreciate the hassle and the lack of honesty on their part.

5. You cannot get rid of books that you no longer want on your Kindle. They end up in ARCHIVES but someone else can still view them and read them by downloading again. Amazon should have a trash bin for books you want to delete that you can empty. These books could still show up on your Kindle account that’s on Amazon but not on your device.

I would not recommend the purchase for someone living outside the US.

The quality is just fair. The peddels kept coming unscrewd, the rims were bent when they arrived, the tires had holes in them, I had to tighten the handle bars every couple of weeks. The only reason I give it 2 stars is because the training wheels held up well, but other than that, I would pass on this bike.
