I have always used SD Cards (Secure Digital) for my cameras, so when I purchased the Panasonic HM-TA1 Video Camera, I was surprised to learn I needed an SDHC card (Secure Digital High Capacity) card. What is the difference? SDHC cost a lot more, but they must be doing something special. Here’s the gist:

SDHC – Secure Digital High Capacity memory cards are flash memory cards with a minimum capacity of 4GB (gigabytes). SDHC cards are the same size as an ordinary SD Card – about the size of a postage stamp.

Secure Digital Cards have been around for almost a decade and SDHC Cards are a newer version developed for use with digital cameras and other devices that don’t just require a higher capacity card, but also one that comes with higher performance. Here is something I found on Wikipedia: “SDHC cards are designed for devices that are compatible with the SD 2.00 specification. Products designed exclusively to support previous SD specifications 1.0 and 1.1 will not be able to utilize SDHC cards”.

This is confusing (kind of), but you can use an SDHC card as a SD card, but not always the other way around for good quality.

There is also a new feature out – “Classification of Data Transfer Speed (DTS)”.

SD cards can record video up to 40X (6MB/Sec), but it starts slow (like, 0.1 MB/Sec) and then increases to 6MB/Sec (40X speed). It is an average speed recording. However, an SDHC card starts and finished at 6MB/Sec – 40x Speed, but has a top speed of 20MB/Sec – 133x Speed. That means your video is very clear and crisp on that high resolution flat screen!

Of course, the SDHC cards are more expensive than SD cards, but you get a far better quality.

I found that I had anything from a 512 MB SD card to an 8 MB SD card. There just was no point in having all these loose cards. Now with an SDHC, I can record more video at a higher quality and capacity. So it’s worth the money in the end. You can get NEW cards at a cheaper price on Amazon, but I would advise a

As soon as I started reading this book I was hooked. If someone hadn’t recommended it to me I probably wouldn’t have read it (I’m not really interested in circuses). However, I thoroughly enjoyed reading about a depression-era circus and about what happens behind the scenes. Very fascinating as many things in this book are from true stories. Written very vividly, I could picture each person clearly as well as everything that was happening. I totally recommend it!!!
Space Invaders Game Board

Great Game!. I love Blink! My friends and I play all the time! You have to match cards with shape, color, or number. You try to get rid of all of your cards before the other person. It is the fastest game in the world! I would definetly reccomend this game to kids 7 and up, but adults will love this game too! This game is loads of fun and even educational!

grandmother. My 5 year old and 10 year old grandsons both enjoyed this game. I thought Qwirkle Board Game had great potential for building strategies and will probably purchase another to be used in my work with children.

Display of high scores. My daughter loves this game as any mention of a princess will win her over.

There is one problem with this game and that is in the High Score area. It will leave the set amount of high scores in memory even if you delete/replace those player names on the intro screen. The problem is that if you have older children playing this game and racking up big scores, you may never give the younger child the chance to see her name on the display. Since this is a goal oriented game, this may mean you will have to buy another cartridge. Leap Frog said this is also on other game cartidges they produce. It seems that they should have a way to delete high scores so that if you want to hand the game down to other children, they will have as much fun getting their name on the scoreboard.

When i bought this game and played it, LeapFrog Leapster Learning Game: Disney Princess was apparent this had been a return because it was already loaded with names and scores. I took my daughters leapster to the store and opened up enough games to find one that had not already been used.

In addition, this game is far less effective in the volume of learning skills than some of the other cartidges (ie. draw & write, Nemo, Dora).

It is a shame that the one cartidge every little girl is going to want, couldn’t have been better thought out and with more content.

It gets two stars because my daughter would not let me give it a one.

Pop the PIg is crazy funny!. So I bought this game for one of my younger cousins to play on our family/thanksgiving reunion. He LOVED Goliath Pop the Pig Kids Game and my family got a kick out of it as well. It was easy to play unlike another review I read my little cousin didn’t have any trouble pressing down on the head, so either my cousin is super strong or kids are getting super weak hahah j/k. Anywho I think the funnest part of the game was obviously seeing the pig’s arms fly up and his belt pop open my cousin never really got that that meant he lost. This game is simple and easy to store the pieces inside the Piggy. I’m suggesting this game to everyone.
