I bought my 305 a couple of years ago and while the battery is still fine, the watch is no longer functional. Of the two other folks I know of who have 305’s, both are also experiencing the same basic failure – the watch becomes intermittent and eventually stops working all together. The root of the problem appears to be a couple of things – the weedy metal contacts used between the two watch halves tend to get bent out of shape and lose contact and the watch isn’t particularly water proof. When mine failed, it got intermittent for a couple of runs (would either fail to turn on, or would randomly turn off during the run and could not be powered on again). Poking around online revealed that this is a common problem with the watch so I opened it up and attempted to apply the fix suggested (lightly bend the contacts back into place). Unfortunately, when I opened the watch up (it’s just glued together lightly, another bad design choice) it was clear that water/sweat had gotten into the watch and had corroded the interior and the contacts. Since the contacts are so fragile I broke a couple of them off trying to clean them and bend them back into shape. In all other aspects, it was a nice improvement over the 201 I had before (which I’m back to using now). The main reason I had upgraded to the 305 was for the more sensitive receiver since my 201 has a horrible time locking the satellites where I run. If it weren’t for the poor construction quality, I’d heartily recommend it.
Apple iPod Classic Skin

This is my second Kindle. The first Kindle was purchased 6 weeks ago but it broke so Amazon sent me this second Kindle. I live in Canada and I’ve experienced a lot of frustrations with this product:

1. Books are more expensive for Canadians than they are for Americans. They cost US $2 more per book and that includes books that are free for US residents. We can get some free books in Canada but the numbers are very limited.

2. The extended warranty is not available to residents outside the US.

3. The internet browser does not work outside the US so in Canada, we can only use Wikipedia but not Google or do any other web browsing.

4. When my first Kindle broke, Amazon told me to ship it back and they would ship me a new one. They said they would charge for the entire amount again for the 2nd Kindle($259 plus shipping and customs duties came to a total of about $311) but they would refund that amount when they received the broken one. Well, instead, they sent me a gift certificate for $259 and I had to call and talk to them to tell them that, hey, I wasn’t responsible for the lemon (the first Kindle broke due to manufacturing defects) and so please refund me the entire amount. They did but I did not appreciate the hassle and the lack of honesty on their part.

5. You cannot get rid of books that you no longer want on your Kindle. They end up in ARCHIVES but someone else can still view them and read them by downloading again. Amazon should have a trash bin for books you want to delete that you can empty. These books could still show up on your Kindle account that’s on Amazon but not on your device.

I would not recommend the purchase for someone living outside the US.
Apple iPod nano 16

“Wow!” says it all. I researched into the various Reading Devices available, and I’ve seen them physically, and I know that I made the right choice. I read quite a lot, and I am very pleased with the selection and price that the Kindle makes available. The e-paper is fantastic–it’s easy to read from, and the graphics are better than I was expecting. I was amazed at how many free and inexpensive books were available, many of which would be hard to find in print. The Web access is beneficial, especially Wikipedia, and the onboard dictionary definitions at the bottom are very helpful. It’s light, thin, and I used it for nearly a month without recharging the battery. The money I will save on new books pays for itself on this device, and honestly, aside from being afraid of the initial investment, I can’t think of a negative thing about a Kindle. My co-worker loves his as well, and everyone who has seen it has been impressed. I’m sure I’m not alone in pointing out that a Kindle owner is also a Kindle salesman–more than once I have demonstrated for interested people.
Apple iPod Touch Protective

I bought this for my mom as a gift. She walks quite a bit every day. She really, really likes this pedometer. She had used other ones previously that turned out to not be very accurate & would break. This one is still working great after a couple months, & is user friendly. It clips on securely & seems to be very accurate whether it’s clipped onto you or lying in your purse. It also has a clock on it, which is very convenient. This pedometer seemed to be the best value after looking at many different models. Good brand too.
Apple iPod mini 4GB
