I have read other reviews about KitchenAid mixers warning about plastic gears and weak motors. Usually these reviews stated how the mixers had difficulty mixing double or triple batches. I only wanted to mix single batches and knead dough, I figured if I upgraded to the “Pro” series and didn’t overload my mixer I wouldn’t experience any problems. I was wrong!
The motor is painfully, pitifully, pathetically WEAK. When I first got it home, I mixed up a batch single batch of cookies. The mixer was able to do the job, but I couldn’t help but notice the mixer groan as I slowly incorporated the mere 1 and 3/4 cups of flour. I tried to push this out of my head, thinking I must be hearing things, so the next day I tried out the dough hook and the real trouble began. Just like the day before, I noticed the mixer groan as I ran it on slow and mixed together a single batch of pizza dough. Then I put in the dough hook and tried to up the speed. I was too scared to turn the mixer past the next to slowest speed, as the mixer bounced around, and the motor really struggled (remember this was just a single batch of 3 cups total flour). Now I was really thinking I was paranoid, and decided just to leave it alone and let it do it’s thing without fussing over it. I came back to the dough about 10 minutes later, and it was still rattling and moaning, but everything looked fine. Then out of curiosity I held my hand over the machine to see if it had heated up, and sure enough the outside of motor was hot enough to cook off. After that I realized it was better to return it right away before it stopped working completely and get my money back.
Bottom line: this mixer is just not strong enough to do even the most basic mixing or kneading task.

I did a lot of research before purchasing this steam cleaner. I owned a Bissell in the past and it was junk. I think I used it twice and then it broke.
I was AMAZED at how well this cleaned my carpet. I have two young children and a cat and a husband that doesn’t like to remove his shoes when coming into the house. My stairs and landings were disgusting. My carpet looks almost brand new.
You do need to take your time but it’s worth it.
My only gripes are the same as most…the tanks are small. I had to make numerous trips to the sink.
I definitely recommend this product!!
KitchenAid Pro Grater with
Sara Gruen’s Water for Elephants will probably top the list for the books I read in 2010 (3 months left, so come on authors, wow me!). It is evident that Gruen painstakingly researched life in the 1930’s circuis, and her hard work paid off with a nice slice of Americana. The book’s plot kept me turning pages late into the night.
Others have complained about the book’s vulgarity, and I’ll admit that several scenes were a bit too vulgar for my taste, but the subject is the depression-era circus, not nursery school. While not necessarily pleasant, it was probably befitting the subject matter.
The greatest praise I’ll give Gruen was in her ending. The fiction-literature authors of the last decade seem to be of the notion that a depressing ending makes for good literature. I would like to remind these authors that I read fiction as an escape from reality, not as a desire to have more of it. To Gruen’s credit, she reached for the best ending possible, and she nailed it! I hope the rest of her books are as good as this one!

I’m not a big reader of fiction, but I so enjoyed this book and even sent it off as a gift. It has a great plot and it keeps you reading – very hard to put down.
Waring Pro SB10 Professional
Ordered steam vac Sunday and received it today with the one day shipping. Got it out of the box, put it together and used it on the area rug! Carpet is now clean and I’m so happy. Amazing how disgusting the dirty water was! I had the hoover widepath before and the container where you put the cleaner broke off. $50 for a new one so I held it in place when I used it. A few months ago I turned the brushes off to use attachment and when I went to turn brushes on again, they wouldn’t turn. I couldn’t figure out the problem and husband wouldn’t look at it so I put it in the trash after using the attachment one more time to clean spots on the rug. Less than two weeks later and somehow the dog and kids had the carpet looking awful again. After researching I found this to be the best one, especially for the price. The widepath was more expensive and probably did just as good at cleaning. Since there aren’t separate containers for clean water and soap in this new one, I don’t have to worry about that part breaking and hopefully this one will last me a long time. Only used once so far but am very happy!

I was searching for a scale that had an extended weight capacity; which was not an easy endeavor. Many SAID they would do this, or that … then in reading the “fine print” I would find that accuracy, or some other aspect of the product, would be adversely affected if the extended weight were actually utilized.(So whats the point!)
So, when I first read the details of the “EatSmart Precision Digital Scale with Step-On Technology” I wondered if it could really be as accurate, reliable and simple to use as it claimed. Where’s the fine print that negates the promises? Well, let me say that my experience has been phenomenal! The product does ALL it says it can – and the calibration consistently holds an accurate weight when compared to my Doctors office results.
Undoubtedly, the next time I need a health product that EatSmart provides, I will be purchasing it from them. I am exceedingly happy with all aspects of this product and the company’s service; therefore, I feel you will not be misguided in trusting them as well.

The writing in this wonderful novel has a jarring truth to it…I could not put it down! Ms. Stockett has given us a gift with this book. She makes her reader experience the Civil Rights era through the eyes of simple, courageous black maids. She has captured the very speech mannerisms of the maids, their inner thoughts, their hopes, their dreams, their wonderful sense of humor about their circumstances, but most of all, Stockett has captured their fears. Fear of the power their white lady employers had over them and their families if they broke any of the ‘rules’. There’s no better way to understand an era than to hear it from the mouths of the people who lived through it…and Stockett has given us characters that became real people her readers can care about, cheer for, cry with. I hope someone will make it into a movie!

Our carpets and oriental rugs needed a good cleaning (dusty climate, pets, and time). I compared the price of professional cleaning, renting a rug doctor, and buying my own. I made the right choice. The unit is powerful and aggressive. We boil water prior to filling the reservoir. A quick one-two with a spot cleaner then the steam vac. It was amazing what the SteamVac pulled out of the rugs and carpet using hot water only. The oriental rugs, which we had always professionally cleaned were put on the deck to clean so as not to damage the wood floor. They dried quickly, colors did not run or fade. Cleaning just one rug paid for the unit! The wall to wall carpeting came out looking like new. They feel amazing with bare feet. Another bonus – my allergies are better. Biggest drawback – the very powerful motor is also rather loud.

A paper like experience – Can read Kindle in full sunlight, and as it is not backlit like a computer there is no eye strain. I love the option to change the font size and look up words in the dictionary. I occasionally forget I am not reading a printed book and go to physically turn the page.
Reading in bed – is so more comfortable, no big movement to change the page, or having to hold a heavy book at a strange unbalanced angle because you are very nearly at the end.
Reading at the Gym – no more tyring to get a thick book to balance on your workout machine, or try to turn pages with sweaty fingers…the Kindle is soo light and slim, it perches on the stand perfectly and only requires a light touch to turn the page. Makes working out a little less painful.
Always have something to read – Light enough to carry around in my handbag, so I always have something to do if I am kept waiting. In the attractive leather cover it looks like a slim diary.
Getting a Manicure – Now something I am sure even Amazon didn’t think of as a benefit….getting your nails done- you can’t turn the pages on a book or a magazine while you wait for your new manicure to dry(boring), but you can read your Kindle.

I haven’t owned this scale very long but I am very happy with it. It is easy to read and easy to turn on. Rather than tapping in the spot indicated I just lift a corner and sit it down lightly and it comes right on. The service was on time and I am very happy with this purchase and would definately buy other products from this company.
