Beware of this book!! Oprah is pushing it. It is scary that someone would be bold enough to write a book from God’s point of view contrary to His Word. Please send to all with kids or grandkids…
BEWARE!!
If you have children or grandchildren, work with children at church, or you have neighborhood children whose parents you know, please take note of the information below and pass it along to others. Schools are distributing this book to children through the Scholastic Book Club.
The name of the book is Conversations with God.. James Dobson talked about this book twice this week. It is devastating. Parents, churches and Christian schools need to be aware of it. Please pass this information on to church/e-mail addresses, Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, friends.
Please pay special attention not only to what your kids watch on TV, in movie theaters, on the Internet, and the music they listen to, but also be alert regarding the books they read.
Two particular books are, Conversations with God and Conversations with God for Teens, written by Neale D. Walsch. They sound harmless enough by their titles alone. The books have been on the New York Times best sellers list for a number of weeks, and they make truth of the statement, “Don’t judge a book by its cover or title.”
The author purports to answer various questions asked by kids using the “voice of God”. However, the “answers” that he gives are not Bible-based and go against the very infallible word of God. For instance (and I paraphrase), when a girl asks the question “Why am I a lesbian?” His answer is that she was ‘born that way’ because of genetics (just as you were born right-handed, with brown eyes, etc.). Then he tells her to go out and “celebrate” her differences.
Another girl poses the question “I am living with my boyfriend. My parents say that I should marry him because I am living in sin. Should I marry him?”
His reply is, “Who are you sinning against? Not me, because you
Rocket From The Crypt
In my opinion, the hype is all this book has. I have spent my life reading most of the classics, along with best sellers, biographies, etc. I stopped counting when I got to 10,000 books read, about 13 years ago, so I consider myself to be a book connoisseur. This Catcher in the Rye is one book I wish I never read. Actually I didn’t even bother to finish it, because it is such a waste of paper and time. If you want to read a great coming of age book, read A Separate Peace or A Prayer for Owen Meany. If you want to read about a real hero, read The Real George Washington.
Giottos Large Super Rocket
Works great in my T2i. No issues. May purchase another because video files are monstrous.
Rocket From The Crypt
Common Design Failure with Clutch. We purchased this bike for our 7-year old son for Christmas. After reading the reviews, we were nervous about purchasing Razor MX500 Dirt Rocket Electric Motocross Bike but we were not comfortable purchasing the more powerful MX650 and the MX350 was too small. In an effort to avoid disappointment on Christmas morning, we ordered it early (the box was badly worn upon arrival but all parts were there) and tested it several times before the big morning. Despite that, the bike STILL broke on Christmas morning after ONLY ten minutes of use. Our son did love it for the ten minutes that he was able to ride on it; however, the common design problem occurred. The clutch is mounted on the rear wheel and it is very poorly designed and appears to fail easily. In order to fix the problem, Razor has to send a new rear wheel and we have to cross our fingers that it actually works this time AND continues to work.
Despite being concerned about the MX650 being too much bike for a 7-year old, I wish that we had purchased that bike instead. It does not appear to have the same design flaw that the MX500 is plagued with and at least it would be working right now.
Good bike, bad shipping . The bike is great now that I have all the parts. The box that Razor MX650 Dirt Rocket Electric Motocross Bike was shipped in was in bad shape and parts were missing. I guess that’s what you get with free shipping.
