If one has read nothing about the American Rev., this may be a good start partic if one wants to avoid the top down, Founding Fathers approach. However, Nash gets a bunch of details just plain wrong (odd, since he is a very successful textbook writer), especially regarding military history.
The Unknown American Revolution

This is the second one I have purchase, the first was a gift for my Dad. Since he loved it so much I decided to get one for myself. Up until now I had been using the Kindle iPod version for my iPod Touch and iPhone. The downside with reading on the iPod/iPhone was the screen size, the glare and the back-lit screen was a little straining on my eyes after a while. Here are my positives and negatives with my new Kindle device:

Positives:
1- No glare, easy on the eyes and good size – it really does read like a paperback book page.
2- Instant wireless connection that you don’t pay to use.
3- Buy new hardback editions instantly without the cost or the heft(I no longer have to wait for the paperback version to come out).
4- The archives, since I had already purchased books using my iPod, I was able to access and download them to my new Kindle immediately.
5- Battery life has been excellent, with the wireless on or off. I usually keep it turned off.
6- Syncs automatically, if you read some pages on say your iPhone and then go home and read your Kindle it updates where you left off on the other device, as long as your wireless is on that is.
7- I no longer have to worry about what to do with all the paperbacks I have already read. You will understand if you read as much as I do. No more stacks of books or Trader Joe bags full of books waiting to be given away. It really is a stress reliever.

Negatives:
1- Difficult to search for books from the device/menus are not all that easy to navigate.
2- With the cover and everything its a a little heavier than a paperback book (but is lighter than a hardback).
3- The size is also a little inconvenient sometimes, though it is thin it is still bigger than a paperback and doesn’t fit in my purse so I can’t take it everywhere I go. In those cases I read on my iPhone.

Overall so far the positives greatly outweigh the negatives, and I am very happy.
Beer League by Unknown | reelafghanistan
